Q&A with Carol Dreher
Where are you from?
Carol was born and raised on Long Island, NY until she joined the US Air Force as a Security Police Specialist. Her military career took her to the other side of the world where she spent the last of her career in the Republic of the Philippines where she exited the military to become a mother to her son, Martin. Coming back to the states she and her family settled in North Carolina where she had a farm before moving to Florida.
How did you get into this business?
I was an office manager doing all the back-office accounting but wasn't understanding the end-product. I went back to school to learn how all my daily input work tied to the end product: financials. I fell in love with taxes and audit so much that I did it in public accounting for twelve years before going to work in the corporate sector.
What challenges do businesses face today?
As far as accounting goes, in my world, the biggest challenge is the constantly changing tax landscape. I work hard to stay up-to-date to make sure that my clients stay compliant.
What differentiates you?
My commitment to customer service! I know that accounting is not one size fits all. I tailor my services to clients of all sizes and needs.
